Green Lantern is one of the earliest examples of legacy heroes, showing that just about anyone can personify a Green Lantern, and that the powers that derive with the ring crook to wooing the individual wearer. Realistic weakness
Solomon Guggenheim says another reason Green Lantern endures is that the "powers are amazing and limitless, but they're grounded in the very earthly traits of willpower and imagination."

Giffen says fear and a lack of willpower are things that everyone experiences, making Super acid Lantern's weakness antithetical from those experienced away otherwise superheroes. "There's a reason Superman has Kryptonite. Just IT takes that idea of weakness a step further when it's something As understandable and real as just having self-command to overcome obstacles," Giffen says.
Space opera and flexibility
Guggenheim says the Green Lantern concept is alone because it not only shows heroic feats on Earth, but it also takes the knell-wearer into space as part of an intergalactic constabulary. "They are a superhero, but as a member of the Green Lantern Army corps, is contribution of this huge blank opera," the screenwriter says.
